This resource is designed to serve as a guide for common pediatric fractures for medical students.  It’s designed to be used as a quick reference during clinical care.  This website will help you:

  • Propose the initial management steps for common pediatric fractures and when to consult orthopedics

  • Differentiate urgent from non-urgent fractures based on clinical features like deformity, neurovascular status, and open injuries

  • Communicate fracture findings clearly during consults (orthopedics, medicine, trauma surgery etc.) using correct terminology

To Use:

  • Scan through the various chapters labeled “courses” and find the bone relevant for you!

  • We separate the information based on the three sections: definition, special considerations and treatments

  • On each course, you will find mages and definitions to help understand fracture classification and treatment plans, making consulting more straightforward and easing the communication

  • On the quick reference tab, you will find hand-drawn images of locations of the various fracture patterns! Feel free to download and use for your notes and add any details you would like to add
